TWO YEARS LATER
Dressed in prison orange, folding laundry for cents, Victoria looked up when a guard announced: “Montenegro, you have a visitor.”
It was Yazmín—no longer dressed in cheap fabric. Tailored suit. Quiet authority.

Victoria sneered bitterly: “Here to gloat?”
Yazmín slid a photograph across the table.
Tadeo—smiling in his school uniform, violin in hand.
“He was accepted into the American School. Full scholarship.”
“He plays violin… like Adrián.”
Something sharp flickered through Victoria’s chest—almost pride.
Yazmín continued calmly:
“The fortune you took was returned by court order.”
“Tadeo is heir to the legitimate Montenegro estate.”
Then the final sentence landed, calm and razor-sharp:
“You tried to buy a grandson.”
“You learned love has no price.”
