Starting Over at Berkeley
Arriving in California with two suitcases and very little money was both terrifying and exhilarating.
My scholarship covered my Berkeley tuition.
Everything else was up to me.
While some classmates posted photos from luxury vacations, I worked three different jobs:
Morning shifts at a campus coffee shop.
Evening hours at the library.
Weekends assisting a law professor with research.
Sleep became a rare luxury.
But slowly, I began building something better than approval.
I built a life.
