An eight-year-old girl sleeps alone, but every morning she says her bed feels “too small.” When her mother checks the security camera at 2 a.m., she breaks down in silent tears…

A WOMAN WHO GAVE EVERYTHING FOR HER SON

My mother-in-law was 78 years old.

She became a widow when Daniel was just seven.

For more than forty years, she never remarried.

She worked any job she could find:

— Cleaning
— Laundry
— Selling food in the mornings

All to raise her son and put him through medical school.

Daniel once told me that there were days she ate nothing but dry bread—yet still found money to buy him meat and fish.

When Daniel left for college, she continued sending envelopes with twenty or thirty dollars, carefully folded.

For herself…

She lived in heartbreaking simplicity.
