The birthplace of Bence is a city in Hungary called Székesfehérvár—
a name almost as unique as the boy himself.
Like every parent, his mom and dad couldn’t wait to see their child’s face.
Would he look like his father? His mother?
Would they find familiar features in him?
But when Bence was born, he looked nothing like either of them.
He arrived with a thick head of snow-white hair

Some babies are born bald.
Some come with a full head of dark hair.
But Bence?
He came into the world with hair white as winter—something no one expected in a delivery room.
White hair usually belongs to the elderly, earned through years of stress or family genetics.
As my stepfather used to say:
“Do you think I got these white hairs because I had no problems?”
Yet here was Bence—born carrying that look of wisdom long before he’d lived it.
Very light hair is common in Scandinavia, but pure white, pale as snow?
That is rare.
His parents worried immediately.
Could this mean albinism—a condition where the body struggles to produce melanin, the pigment that colors skin, hair, and eyes?
It wasn’t life-threatening, but it could make him sensitive to light and more prone to skin cancer.

After a series of tests, doctors gave the answer.
Bence did not have albinism.
The truth was simpler:
he had very little melanin at birth, giving him that pale tone and shock of white hair.
He was perfectly healthy, delivered right on time.
Doctors explained his hair would likely darken as he grew older—
a Benjamin Button in reverse.
In the hospital, nurses adored him instantly.
They nicknamed him “Prince Charming.”

Dr. Zoltan Kummer explained that Bence’s case was likely a temporary pigment deficiency.
And fittingly, his city of birth—Székesfehérvár—is often shortened to Fehérvár, which means “white castle” in Hungarian.
It was as though he had been born the newborn king of the White Castle.
His rare appearance quickly drew worldwide attention.
Millions learned about the baby from Hungary with snow-white hair.
And as he grew, the “little white king” blossomed into a beautiful, healthy child—
still carrying the charm that made him unforgettable from the very first day of his life.
