False claims have been circulating online suggesting that Trump had di:ed or was hospitalized. A representative for Donald Trump has now been prompted to address speculation claiming that the president had either passed away or was receiving medical care in a hospital.
Throughout his second term, Trump’s health has been closely scrutinized, with observers monitoring his speech, movements, behavior, appearance, and age.
One earlier episode that fueled speculation occurred in late 2024 into 2025, when people noticed marks or bruising on his hands.
In another instance, on August 27, 2025, U.S. Vice President JD Vance remarked that he was prepared to assume the presidency. Because the vice president assumes office if a president dies in office, his statement quickly sparked rumors that Trump was either deceased or seriously ill.
Most recently, the White House addressed the renewed wave of speculation about Trump’s health.
Taking to X, Trump’s spokesperson Steven Cheung wrote: “There has never been a President who has worked harder for the American people than President Trump.
“On this Easter weekend, he has been working nonstop in the White House and Oval Office. God Bless him.”
The latest rumors suggested that Trump was receiving treatment at Walter Reed National Medical Center.

On Saturday around 11:08 a.m., the White House announced that Trump would not make a public appearance for the rest of the day—a rare change, as he usually travels to Mar-a-Lago on weekends to play golf.
Trump has visited Walter Reed in the past, most recently in October 2025 for an MRI scan. Speaking to reporters on Air Force One at the time, Trump confirmed the scan, saying: “I did. I got an MRI. It was perfect.”
Earlier speculation about his health resurfaced when observers noticed a scabbing rash on his neck during a Medal of Honor ceremony at the White House on March 2.
People noticed what appeared to be scabs and a large red rash on Trump’s neck, extending from the back of his hairline to behind his ear.

White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella explained: “President Trump is using a very common cream on the right side of his neck, which is a preventative skin treatment, prescribed by the White House Doctor.”
Dr. Barbabella added: “The president is using this treatment for one week, and the redness is expected to last for a few weeks.”
