After suffering a severe stroke, Viktor had been confined to a wheelchair for several years.
He had once been a successful businessman who built a substantial company with his own hands. Through his efforts, his family never went without. His children attended the finest universities, lived in expensive homes, and drove luxury cars.
But after his illness, everything changed.

The company had long since been sold, and Viktor spent most of his time at home under the care of nurses and doctors. Despite his condition, he remained mentally sharp and fully aware of everything happening around him.
He had two adult children — a son named Michael and a daughter named Elena.
To outsiders, they appeared to be devoted relatives. They visited their father regularly, inquired about his health, and told friends how worried they were about him.
Behind closed doors, things were very different.
One day, Michael came across his father’s documents and discovered a substantial insurance policy. Several years earlier, Viktor had taken out life and health insurance worth a very large sum. The documents stated that if he died as the result of an accident, his children would be the beneficiaries.
The payout came to ten million dollars.
At first, the brother and sister simply talked about what they had found.
Then they began calculating the money.
Within a few weeks, those conversations had become an actual plan.
They convinced themselves that their father would never walk again, that his life would never resemble what it once was, and that the money would solve all of their financial difficulties.
In reality, both had been living well beyond their means for years. Michael had accumulated enormous debt from failed investments, while Elena faced losing her luxury home over overdue loans.
The more they thought about the money, the weaker their conscience grew.
One day, the children suggested a short trip to some scenic seaside cliffs.
Viktor was surprised by the idea but agreed.
The weather was gloomy. Heavy clouds hung over the ocean, and a strong wind pressed against their faces.
They wheeled him to a viewing platform near the cliff’s edge.
For a while, all three stood in silence looking out over the water.
Then Michael walked slowly toward his sister.
They exchanged a glance.
Viktor noticed it and felt a sudden unease.
“What’s going on?” he asked quietly.
No one answered.
A moment later, the brother and sister pushed the wheelchair forward together. The wheels rolled over the edge. The chair, with Viktor still in it, vanished into the drop below.

The children stood frozen for several seconds.
Then Elena began to cry, and Michael took out his phone and called emergency services.
They reported that a terrible accident had occurred.
Everything appeared to have gone according to plan.
But very soon, something happened that made both of them deeply regret what they had done.
What the children didn’t know was this: several months earlier, Viktor had begun to suspect that his children’s interest in him was driven entirely by money.
He had noticed their persistent questions about insurance policies, inheritance, and legal documents.
As a result, he contacted an old friend who worked as a lawyer.
After several long conversations, Viktor revised the terms of both his insurance policy and his will.
According to the new documents, if his death was connected in any way to the actions of the beneficiaries, or if there were any suspicion of their involvement, all insurance payments would be automatically canceled. Furthermore, the money would be transferred to a charitable foundation that helped stroke survivors.
But that wasn’t all.
A week before the trip, Viktor had installed a small camera on his wheelchair that recorded everything around him.
He told no one.
When rescue workers searched the scene, they found the damaged wheelchair on a ledge far below the cliff.
The camera had survived.
The footage captured the entire conversation between the children before the cliff, and the moment they deliberately pushed the wheelchair over the edge.
The case quickly stopped looking like an accident.
Investigators obtained undeniable evidence.
Michael and Elena were arrested while filing paperwork to claim the insurance money.
But the biggest development came afterward.

During the fall, the wheelchair had become caught in thick bushes growing on a rocky ledge. The impact was cushioned, and Viktor survived.
He had suffered serious injuries, but he was alive.
Several months later, the trial began.
The children lost not only their right to the insurance payout but their entire inheritance as well.
According to Viktor’s will, upon his death all of his assets were to pass to charitable organizations.
