The wedding filled the grand ballroom at the Vale Hotel: white roses, hundreds of candles, executives, reporters, and relatives gathered to see what Grant called “the start of a new dynasty.”
At exactly 11:58 a.m., I walked down the aisle — Lily in one arm, a sealed envelope in the other. Vivian saw me first; her smile vanished. The music stopped. All eyes turned.
“You aren’t invited,” Vivian snapped.
“I was welcomed into this family six years ago,” I said. “Today I’m returning everything it gave me.”

Grant stepped from the altar. “Leave before security throws you out.”
I pressed the envelope into his hands. “Read this before you sign another marriage license.”
He tore it open. His face drained of color as he read the paternity report, saw Marcus’s name, and looked at the probability score.
“What is this?”
“Proof,” I said. “The son you’ve been celebrating belongs to another man.”
Celeste snatched the paper. “This is fake!”
Marcus stood from his seat. “No, Celeste. You ordered it yourself.”
Daniel pressed a button. The giant screen behind the altar lit up — clinic certificates, her signed consent forms, and then her voice filled the whole room:
“Grant is desperate for a son… Vivian will make sure I control the family money… he never has to know.”
Grant stepped back from her as if burned. “You used me?”
“You wanted a son so badly you never checked if you could even have one!” she shot back.
Vivian lunged at Celeste; they screamed and knocked over roses as staff rushed to separate them.
“Eleanor — we can fix this,” Grant said, turning to me.
My phone chimed. Noon.
“No,” I said. “Now the company fixes what you broke.”
The screen changed: GRANT VALE — REMOVED AS CEO, followed by the frozen accounts, the forged loan, and every unauthorized expense.
“This is my company!” he shouted.
“It was never yours.”
Two investigators walked in for him. Two more approached Vivian — her condo had been bought with stolen funds. Celeste was shown proof she’d hidden wedding costs as corporate events.
Vivian looked at Lily. “I’m her grandmother.”
“You sent her a bracelet that said ‘second place.’”
“I made one mistake,” Grant whispered.
“You made a choice, every single day,” I said, holding Lily tighter. “You rejected your daughter. You betrayed your wife. You stole from people who trusted you. And you built your whole world around a lie.”
As they led him out, the guests stepped aside. No one spoke up for him.
