I Swapped His Affair’s “Lubricant” With Industrial Glue—But When the Hospital Said They Couldn’t Separate Them, I Uncovered Something Far Worse

Part 2: The Affair Was Only the Beginning

The surgery ran more than three hours. By the time Kenneth was wheeled into recovery, doctors warned he could face lasting complications, and Maya was looking at a difficult recovery of her own.

Both families gathered outside the operating room, but rather than asking what Kenneth had done, my mother quietly urged me not to throw away a five-year marriage over what she called one terrible mistake. I didn’t bother arguing with her, because I already had something far more convincing than another family debate.

I unlocked my phone and played the recording I’d been carrying for months.

No one defended Kenneth after hearing his own voice.

I left the hospital, drove straight home, and went into Kenneth’s private study to open the hidden safe with the combination he’d given me before surgery. What I found inside went far beyond proof of an affair.

There were records of massive wire transfers routed through offshore shell companies, confidential Rollins Global files copied without authorization, and divorce papers already drawn up to strip away my voting rights in the family business. Then I found one document that hurt worse than everything else in that safe.

A vasectomy certificate.

Issued two years earlier.

For two years, Kenneth had come with me to fertility appointments, watched me endure injections and procedures, and held me while I blamed myself for our failure to conceive. The entire time, he’d known exactly why pregnancy was impossible and let me believe the problem was mine.

The affair suddenly felt almost like an afterthought.

The next afternoon, I called an emergency meeting at Rollins Global headquarters with both families, my brother Justin, and our lead attorney, Samuel Perry. Kenneth arrived in a wheelchair, worn out, while his mother immediately tried to smooth everything over.

“Sabrina, men make foolish mistakes all the time.”

“You need to think about the five wonderful years you shared together.”

I set the financial records, photographs, and vasectomy certificate down in the middle of the conference table.

“Your son didn’t make a simple mistake.”

“He spent years executing a calculated corporate robbery.”

Samuel rose and formally presented the divorce filing along with allegations of corporate fraud, stolen company funds, and unauthorized disclosure of confidential information. Kenneth burned through every strategy he had left, first blaming Maya, then begging for forgiveness, then threatening to fight every claim in court.

“Go right ahead and try.”

For illustrative purposes only

“The moment you file a response, federal prosecutors will receive a complete audit of every illegal deposit you ever made.”

That put an end to the performance.

Kenneth’s confidence crumbled, and without another word of argument, he signed.

That evening, my father asked me to come back to Rollins Global as chief executive officer. Over the previous year, the company had lost government contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars, and the evidence now suggested Kenneth had helped competitors by leaking confidential bidding information.

I said yes immediately.

Not out of a desire for revenge, but because someone had to repair the damage he’d deliberately helped cause.

Just when I believed I finally grasped the full scheme, Maya’s close friend Paige reached out and set up a private meeting at a quiet tea house in Englewood. She slid a black USB drive across the table and told me it held encrypted conversations between Maya and Raymond Parsons, owner of Parsons Dynamics, our biggest competitor.

“Raymond Parsons offered Maya twenty-five million dollars to get close to Kenneth, record his pillow talk, and set off a public scandal that would permanently weaken your family’s grip on the market.”

Paige explained that Maya had initially agreed because her father needed expensive heart surgery. Later, when Maya tried to back out, Raymond allegedly threatened to release hidden camera footage of her.

“So she betrayed Kenneth, but she was caught in her own trap.”

Paige leaned in.

“It gets worse.”

“There’s an active mole working inside your executive suite right now.”

The next morning, I ordered a full forensic audit of our internal systems. The investigation turned up Marcus Salinas, a senior marketing director whom Kenneth had quietly recruited years earlier to sabotage Rollins Global from within.

Confronted with phone logs, financial transfers, and offshore records tying him to Parsons Dynamics, Marcus finally agreed to confess on camera. Before he could officially sign his statement, though, another crisis erupted.

Federal agents arrested Justin after finding twenty-five million dollars in cash inside his truck, along with documents linking him to a fraudulent municipal contract.

It was the exact sum Raymond had promised Maya.

Minutes later, my phone rang.

“Resign as CEO and step down from the Rollins board immediately, or your dear brother will spend the next twenty years in a federal prison.”

The caller hung up before I could respond. Then another message came through. This one was from Kenneth.

“I know who funded Raymond Parsons’s takeover attempt. It isn’t an outside competitor. The mastermind bankrolling Parsons Dynamics is someone inside your own family.”

I opened the attached file. The name inside shattered every certainty I still had left.
