Tips to peel boiled eggs quickly

Use Older Eggs:

    • Older eggs tend to peel more easily than fresh ones. If possible, use eggs that have been in your refrigerator for at least a week.
  1. Start with Hot Water:

    • After boiling the eggs, transfer them immediately to a bowl of ice water or cold water with ice cubes. This helps to contract the egg whites from the shell, making peeling easier.
  2. Crack the Shell:

    • Gently tap the boiled egg on a hard surface to crack the shell. Roll the egg gently to create small cracks all over the surface.
  3. Use a Spoon:

    • Tap the wide end of the egg on a hard surface to create a crack. Then, use a spoon to slide between the egg white and the shell, lifting the membrane away and making it easier to peel.
  4. Roll on the Counter:

    • After boiling, roll the egg gently on the countertop to crack the shell. Apply light pressure to avoid crushing the egg.
  5. Peel Under Running Water:

    • Peel the egg under running water, which can help remove small shell fragments and make the process smoother.
  6. Use the Back of a Spoon:

    • Gently tap the egg on a hard surface to create cracks, then use the back of a spoon to slide between the egg white and the shell, gradually lifting the shell off.
  7. Shake in a Jar:

    • Place the boiled egg in a jar with a little water and shake it vigorously. The shell should start to peel away from the egg.
  8. Crack and Roll:

    • Crack the boiled egg on a hard surface, then roll it gently between your hands to create cracks all over the shell. Start peeling from the wider end.
  9. Use a Paper Towel:

    • Dampen a paper towel and place it over the cracked egg. Roll the egg gently on the paper towel, and the shell should come off more easily.
  10. Peel from the Wide End:

    • Start peeling from the wider end of the egg. This is where the air pocket is, and it can make the peeling process smoother.
  11. Use a Pin:

    • Gently tap the wider end of the egg with a pin or the back of a teaspoon to create a small hole. This can help air get between the egg white and the membrane, making peeling easier.

Remember that the freshness of the eggs, the boiling method, and the rapid cooling process all contribute to easier peeling. Experiment with these techniques to find what works best for you.
