Cremation is becoming increasingly common across cultures today. Yet, for many Christians, an important question remains: does choosing cremation carry spiritual consequences, and what does the Bible say about it?

To understand this perspective, it’s important to recognize God’s sovereignty over our lives. The Bible does not explicitly forbid cremation, though it includes passages discussing the treatment of the body.
Historically, traditional burial was the norm among the Israelites. For example:
- Abraham purchased a tomb for Sarah.
- Joseph’s body was carried from Egypt to Canaan for burial.
Even so, the method of burial does not limit the Creator’s power. Christian faith teaches that God’s will ensures resurrection, whether the body is buried or reduced to ashes.
What truly matters is honoring the deceased while trusting fully in the eternal purpose and unconditional grace of the Lord.
