I Was Forced to Plan My Husband’s Mistress’s Baby Shower — But What They Didn’t Know Was That My “Gift” Would Be a DNA Test That Shattered Their Pride

My name is Valeria. For years, I was the dutiful wife to Fernando.
During our ten-year marriage, we were unable to have children. That fact became the weapon my mother-in-law, Mrs. Marta, and Fernando constantly used against me.
“You’re sterile! You’re useless as a woman!” Fernando would shout whenever he stumbled home drunk.
Then one afternoon, he walked through the door with another woman.
Camila. Young, stunning… and pregnant.
“Valeria,” Fernando announced coldly, “Camila is expecting. She’s going to give me the heir you never could. Starting today, she’s moving in.”
I felt something inside me break. But the real humiliation came with his next command.
“I want you to organize a party,” he said. “A grand baby shower with a gender reveal. I want my business partners to witness that I’m finally having a son. If you expect to keep living under this roof, you’ll make it perfect.”
I had no one to rely on. No savings of my own. Everything we owned was in Fernando’s name.
So I agreed.
I, the lawful wife, arranging flowers and balloons, hiring caterers for my husband’s pregnant mistress.
The day of the celebration arrived.
The Polanco mansion overflowed with guests—relatives, friends, business associates. Some looked at me with sympathy. Others with contempt.
Camila wore a fitted dress, one hand resting possessively on her belly as she clung to Fernando’s arm. Mrs. Marta beamed with pride.
“Finally!” my mother-in-law exclaimed into the microphone. “The Montoya family will have a true grandson! Thank goodness Camila came along, because if we had depended on Valeria, we’d have remained childless forever.”
Laughter echoed through the hall.
I stood off to the side holding a tray of drinks, like hired staff in my own home.
“Valeria!” Fernando called out. “Come up here!”
I had no option but to obey.
“I’d like to thank my wife,” he said with a thin, mocking smile, “for accepting her shortcomings and putting together this wonderful event. Valeria… did you bring a present for ‘our son’?”
I smiled.
This was the moment I had prepared for.

Taking the microphone, I faced Fernando, Camila, and Mrs. Marta.
“Yes, Fernando,” I replied evenly. “I brought a gift. It required time and money, but today is such a special occasion.”
I gestured to a waiter, who handed me a large red envelope.
“Camila,” I said, turning toward her, “you’re three months along, correct?”
“Yes,” she answered smugly. “And it’s a boy. The future heir.”
“Wonderful,” I said calmly. “Fernando, go ahead and open my gift.”
He tore open the envelope eagerly, likely expecting property papers or access to an account.
Instead, he pulled out medical documents.
The smile vanished from his face.
All the color drained from his skin.
His hands began to shake.
“W-what is this?” he murmured.
“Read it out loud, Fernando,” I said firmly.
He couldn’t.
So I did.
“For ten years,” I began, stepping forward across the stage, “I was blamed for our inability to have children. I was labeled sterile. Worthless.”
I met Mrs. Marta’s eyes.
“But last month, I consulted a fertility specialist. The results were clear: I am perfectly healthy.”
A ripple of whispers spread among the guests.
“So I asked myself,” I continued, “if I’m healthy… why didn’t I ever conceive? While Fernando was asleep, I collected a strand of his hair and sent it to a laboratory for comprehensive DNA and fertility testing.”
I pointed at the papers trembling in his grip.
“Fernando, this report states that you have azoospermia. Zero sperm count. You were born sterile. You cannot father children.”
The silence that followed felt explosive.
Fernando let the papers slip from his hands and slowly turned toward Camila.
“If… if I can’t have children…” he stammered. “Then who is the father of the baby you’re carrying?”
Camila’s face drained of color.
“L-love… that test is fake. Valeria is lying. She’s jealous!” she cried.
“Fake?” I let out a short laugh. “I also hired a private investigator. Do you know who Camila has been speaking to every night? Her personal trainer from the gym.”
I pulled photographs from my purse and tossed them into the air.
Images of Camila wrapped in another man’s arms.
“NO!” Mrs. Marta shrieked. “My grandson!”
Fernando charged toward Camila, rage overtaking him.
“You betrayed me? I supported you! Bought you an apartment! And you’re pregnant with another man’s child?”
“I’m sorry!” Camila sobbed. “I didn’t think you’d ever find out!”
Mrs. Marta struck her across the face.
“Get out, you disgrace!”
The stage dissolved into chaos.
Screaming. Tears. Security dragging Camila away.
I stepped down from the platform, a quiet smile on my lips.
Fernando approached and dropped to his knees before me.
“Valeria… please forgive me. I didn’t know the problem was mine…”
I pulled my hand away.

“Don’t touch me. It’s finished. I’ve already met with my attorney. We’re divorcing. And under our prenuptial agreement, your infidelity grants me half of your assets.”
“No! I love you!”
“You never loved me,” I replied calmly. “You loved the idea of having a son. Now that you know you never will, you mean nothing to me.”
I turned and walked away.
Behind me echoed shouting, shattering glass, and the collapse of a family built on lies.
The celebration meant to mark a “new beginning” had become its ending.
And me?
I was finally free.
And at last, I proved it was never my fault.
