We’re three siblings. When our dad got sick, my brother and sister disappeared, and I was the one who stayed by his side until the very end. I didn’t do it for money—I did it because I loved him and wanted his last days to be peaceful and full of care. When he passed, he left everything to me.
The moment my brother found out, he accused me of manipulating Dad for the inheritance and of shutting them out on purpose. What he doesn’t know is that I actually begged Dad not to leave everything in my name. I warned him it would only cause trouble between us. But he insisted, saying I was the only one who had truly been there.
I didn’t want the inheritance. I already live comfortably, while my brother struggles financially. For a while, I thought they had let it go—no calls, no messages. I hoped maybe time had cooled their anger. But one morning, I woke up to find an envelope slipped under my door.
Inside were legal documents. My siblings had gone behind my back and filed a challenge against Dad’s will. Reading that broke something in me. I understood their resentment before, but this—this felt like betrayal.
Now, I don’t think they deserve any of it. Their actions showed me sides of them I wish I’d never seen. I still don’t know how to face them, or if I even want to.
